Rudolf Stein

Rudolf Stein Mission Statement:

To provide an expert service to a global marketplace and build respectful relationships with our customers, suppliers and employees.

Established in 1912 and originally based in London, Rudolf Stein Ltd moved to Bristol in 1984. In 2001 Rudolf’s grandsons, Matthew and Julian Stein, retired and Sarah Duncan was appointed Chief Executive.

Throughout our long history, the business has continued to adapt to the demands of the market. Initially our reputation was built on the supply of costume jewellery. The business now supplies high street retailers in the UK and across Europe with ladies and children’s fashion accessories ranging from jewellery and hair accessories to purses, bags, scarves, winter warmers and umbrellas. Make-up also forms part of our range and is offered as single items or incorporated into accessory gift packs. Children’s accessories have been our big success story over the last ten years and our license portfolio gives additional depth to our offer. In addition we recognise the emerging teenage market with licensing also helping to give context to our wide range of accessories. Men’s jewellery and fashion accessories are also available.

Service has always been at the heart of our business. Understanding our customers’ brand identity is fundamental to the range that we present. Through researching trends, the market in general and by working closely with our customers we ensure that the range that we present reflects the right product at the right price. We are able to provide a packaging design service if required.

We pay particular attention to quality and our Quality Control team has expertise in risk assessment and testing both as a legal requirement but also to protect the consumer, particularly for children’s accessories. At our instigation, our suppliers issue a full AQL inspection report prior to shipment and final inspection is carried out at our Bristol warehouse when goods arrive.

Delivery on time is essential and our Supply Team work closely with suppliers to ensure that the Critical Path is maintained. Cost of shipping is kept to a minimum as we consolidate air and sea freight shipments and continuously explore more cost effective methods of transport.

We have worked with a number of our suppliers for many years and we emphasise the importance of meeting quality and CSR standards. We have a policy of working closely with and supporting those factories that demonstrate a commitment to constant improvement and awareness of the need to pursue these initiatives for their own future success.
